The City of Paris and the City of Beirut join forces for the rehabilitation and transformation of the Yellow house into a Museum of the City’s History. This cooperation is part of the friendship between Paris and Beirut, formalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in September 2006, explained in April 2010 officials at the embassy and the city of Paris.

During the official launching of the project on April 7th, 2010, Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoë said that Beirut has been developing since 2007 this rehabilitation project of the Yellow House, conducted jointly by a team from the two capitals. "The architectural work is built around respect for the trace of the past, conservation, and reconstruction of the building," he added, pointing out that rehabilitation works will begin by fall 2010 and the Museum will open its doors by early 2013.
